Krzysztof Buzalski

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland in the United Republic of Tanzania

Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski is a career diplomat in the rank of Minister-Counsellor and has many years of experience in cooperation with the countries of sub-Saharan Africa.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Gdańsk (2000), then the National School of Public Administration (2004) and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006).

During the training at the Diplomatic Academy, he was assigned to work at the Embassy and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in London. Then in the years 2006-2007 he worked in the Department of Development Cooperation of the MFA, dealing with i.a. implementation of development projects in Africa. In 2007-2008 he carried out the tasks of the deputy head of mission at the Polish Embassy in Dar es Salaam, in charge of political, development and consular affairs. In 2008-2009 he returned to the Department of Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he dealt with African issues. From November 2009 to July 2015 he worked at the Polish Embassy in Addis Ababa, where he was the deputy head of mission and head of the political and economic unit, responsible for cooperation with Ethiopia, Djibouti and South Sudan and – as part of multilateral diplomacy – with the African Union. He was also responsible for development cooperation. From August 2015 to December 2017 he was employed in the Department of Africa and the Middle East, initially as the head of sub-Saharan Africa unit, and then – the Deputy Director responsible for cooperation with sub-Saharan Africa and horizontal issues. He was actively involved in the process of launching new diplomatic missions on the African continent.

Krzysztof Buzalski assumed office on December 3rd, 2017.

He is fluent in English. He also communicates in Spanish, French, German and Swahili.
 
He is married and has 2 children.

Ambassador Buzalski is accredited in the United Republic of Tanzania, the Republic of Rwanda, the Republic of Malawi, the Republic of Burundi and the Union of the Comoros.
