13.05.2025
During the reception organized in the gardens of the Embassy of Poland in Dar es Salaam, the head of the mission, Sergiusz Wolski, recalled the history of the adoption of the Polish Constitution of 3rd May and emphasized the friendly relations between Poland and Tanzania.
The good state of Polish-Tanzanian relations was also highlighted by the guest of honor of the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of Tanzania Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, who recalled, among other things, the increasing volume of trade between our countries and the numerous development projects, including in the field of health care and education, that have been implemented in the United Republic of Tanzania for many years now as part of Polish Aid. He also drew attention to the positive development of relations between Polish and Tanzanian society, in particular thanks to the constantly increasing presence of both Polish tourists and businessmen in Zanzibar.
The celebrations with Polish and international music and cuisine gathered numerous guests, including Tanzanian government circles, the diplomatic corps, the Polish diaspora and Tanzanian graduates of Polish universities.
It was also an opportunity to present to the audience an exhibition prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland in cooperation with the National Museum of Technology in Warsaw, devoted to "Polish inventions that changed the world". The exhibition showcased the contribution of Poles to the world's technical and scientific heritage by reminding that many objects and devices that are in common use today or have become the foundation for further technological development, such as the hand-held movie camera, wireless radio, walkie-talkie or LCD screen, are in fact owed to Polish scientists.
