Poland in Tanzania

In the first half of July 2021, we had the pleasure to host a group of Polish artists who performed during a series of concerts as part of the Pamoja Zanzibar Festival, organized by Radek Bond Bednarz, a Polish artist and producer, founder of the Eklektik Session cultural platform, known for its activities in Wrocław.

The dynamic development of bilateral relations and the prospects for their further intensification, both in the political and economic spheres, were the main topics of Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński's visit to the United Republic of Tanzania on June 22-24, 2021.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam organized a screening of the opening match between Poland and Slovakia in the EURO2020 European Football Championship.

On June 11, 2021 Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski took part in the inauguration of the new wing of the health center run by the Polish Elizabethan Sisters in Maganzo, Geita region. Thanks to the project implemented by the Sisters in cooperation with the Redemptoris Missio organization, financed by Polish aid, it was possible to build and equip an X-ray and ultrasound center as well as offices for specialist doctors. The project was carried out as part of the Polonia for Neighbors campaign and Polish support for the poorest affected by the coronavirus epidemic.

From 30/12/2020, the amended regulations apply to facilitate access to medical professions in Poland by: doctors, dentists, nurses, midwives, medical rescuers, who obtained qualifications to practice these professions in non-EU countries.

This year, the existing scholarship programmes that are a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA in the form of Polish development aid, i.e. the Banach Scholarship Programme and the Lukasiewicz Scholarship Programme, are merged into one scholarship programme for young people from developing countries who wish to take up studies in Poland. The call for applications will be carried out until June 21, 2021, 3:00 pm local time (Warsaw).

Until May 31, you can apply to the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music. The second edition of the Competition will be held from September 11 to 18, 2021 at the Artur Malawski Podkarpacie Philharmonic in Rzeszów. Participants will compete for a total prize pool of over eighty thousand euros in two categories - piano and chamber ensembles. The competition is organized by the Institute of Music and Dance, and the main financial prizes are funded by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport.

During reception organized in the gardens of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski recalled the history of the May 3rd Constitution and read a letter from Minister Zbigniew Rau with wishes for Poles.

When on 3 May 1791 the Four-Year Sejm also called the Great Sejm adopted The Government Act of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth later known as the Constitution of 3 May, the Polish-Lithuanian state became the Europe’s first and the world’s second that passed the basic law. For its time, it was a progressive and bold legal act which initiated a number of reforms. It also constituted a crowning achievement of the centuries-old links between Poland and Lithuania.

The Day of Polish Community and Poles Abroad was established in recognition of the historical contribution of diaspora communities to the national objectives of the country of their forefathers. Celebrated jointly with Polish Flag Day, it is intended to encourage Poles to reflect on the glorious pages of the country’s past.
