Poland in Tanzania

On 10 April 2010, a special TU-154M plane with the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the First Lady Maria Kaczyńska on board took off from Warsaw to Smolensk. On that very day the members of the official delegation were to participate in the ceremonies taking place in the Katyn War Cemetery, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the crime committed there. The aircraft carried 96 people, including members of the highest state authorities, representatives of various social circles and religious denominations, high-ranking military commanders and the plane’s crew. All the flight passengers died in the air disaster which took place during landing at the airport near Smolensk.

As of March 15th Poland has temporarily closed its borders to foreigners. The ban on entry of the latter into the country has been prolonged until June 12th 2020. As a result, the suspension of the visa service at the Embassy of Poland in Dar es Salaam has been maintained until further notice, except for the categories of persons listed below.

The Tanga House built by the Association of African Missions with the support of foundations such as Unaweza, the Polish Foundation for Africa from Poland, SMALA, FOA from Ireland and numerous donors from various countries, including Poland, has already been inhabited by five albino girls. The latter are being looked after by Sr. Amelia from the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Loreto.

On January 29, 2020, Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski inaugurated the delivery ward at the St. Walburg's Hospital in Nyangao in Lindi region of Tanzania.

The Programme aim is to support the socio-economic growth of developing countries (excluding European and Central Asian countries) through raising the level of knowledge and education of their citizens.

On January 21, 2020, Ambassador Buzalski and a delegation of Polish companies were received by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Water of Tanzania, prof. Kitila Mkumbo.

The 20th century brought the world inconceivable suffering and the deaths of hundreds of millions in the name of twisted, totalitarian ideologies. The death toll of Nazism, fascism and communism is obvious for people of our generation. It is also obvious who is responsible for those crimes and whose pact started World War II - the most murderous conflict in the history of humankind.
