Polish aid Supporting Healthcare Improvement in Oltotoi
10.12.2025
This year's project, funded by Polish aid in the Ndotoi district of Tanzania, primarily aimed to increase local women's access to proper diagnostics and preventive care for infectious diseases.
As part of the project, funded by Polish aid and implemented in cooperation with the Parish of St. Paul the Apostle in Ndotoi, the Mother & Child Clinic in Oltotoi was equipped with diagnostic tools, including a microscope and a device for performing complete blood counts. This made it possible to begin conducting essential diagnostic tests for women’s health and early disease detection in the local laboratory. Local medical staff received laboratory training led by Dr. Monika Pintal-Ślimak, a specialist in medical laboratory diagnostics and President of the Chamber of Laboratory Diagnosticians. Meanwhile, Dr. Anna Paczkowska conducted educational sessions on women’s reproductive health. Overall, in addition to the local medical staff and traditional Maasai midwives, approximately 50 local women participated in the educational activities.
Funding through Polish development cooperation with Tanzania also allowed for the equipping of the Volunteer House, which is intended to facilitate the implementation of Polish medical missions in the region.
In early December, the Mother & Child Clinic and the Volunteer House in Oltotoi were visited by Katarzyna Sobiecka, Head of the Political & Economic Section of the Embassy of Poland in Dar es Salaam, who met with project partners as part of project monitoring.
