Polish artists with a classical music concert in Tanzania

On May 9, the audience in Dar es Salaam participated in a flute and accordion concert organized by the Embassy of Poland on a double occasion: of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council and Europe Day.
Polish artists invited to Tanzania by the Polish Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Jadwiga Kotnowska (flautist) and Jarosław Bester (accordionist), played Polish and international repertoire, which included works by Fryderyk Chopin, Krzysztof Herdzin, Ignacy Paderewski, Krzysztof Komeda, Astor Piazzolla, Béla Bartók and an original composition by Jarosław Bester.
The presented interpretations of classical masterpieces were appreciated by the gathered audience, which was demonstrated by a standing ovation.
The concert was opened by a speech by the head of the Polish Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Sergiusz Wolski, who recalled the priorities of the ongoing Polish Presidency of the EU Council. At the same time he emphasized the importance of Poland's membership in the European Union for its social and economic development since its accession to the community in 2004.
During the event, the Embassy of Poland in Dar es Salaam presented as well the exhibition "The Europe we share", which emphasizes that shared values are a foundation for creating a strong and efficiently functioning community of states.
