24.02.2026
On the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in Tanzania, organized a commemorative event. The programme included a screening of the film "People” and the presentation of the exhibition "Mom, I Don't Want War.”
The central point of the programme was the screening of the film “People”, directed by Maciej Ślesicki and Filip Hillesland. The film presents, in a realistic and deeply moving manner, the consequences of war for civilians, focusing on individual stories and the experiences of ordinary people. The production highlights the humanitarian dimension of the conflict and the importance of international solidarity in the face of violations of international law.
As part of the event, the exhibition “Mom, I Don’t Want War” was also presented, showcasing testimonies of children - both contemporary victims of the war in Ukraine and those who experienced the Second World War. The juxtaposition of historical and contemporary accounts reinforces the message about the universal nature of children’s suffering in armed conflicts and the necessity of their protection in accordance with international law.
During the event, remarks were delivered by Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, Sergiusz Wolski, and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Ukraine in Dar es Salaam, Maksym Nemyria, who emphasized the importance of unity within the international community in the face of the ongoing aggression and the need for continued support for Ukraine.
