27.10.2025

The AgriInnovate Tanzania project, funded through Polish aid, was aimed at promoting an innovative approach to agriculture and agribusiness development among young Tanzanians.

Agrilnnovate Tanzania

The AgriInnovate Tanzania project was implemented with young people interested in developing business activities in the agricultural and agri-food sectors in mind. The initiative focused on building practical business and digital skills necessary to run modern and competitive agricultural enterprises, with particular emphasis on agricultural innovation, socially responsible business practices, and the establishment of new companies.

The training programme, financed through Polish aid, was carried out between August and September 2025 by the Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC) in cooperation with the Unsung Heroes Poland Foundation. As part of the project, 90 students and young entrepreneurs from the agricultural sector acquired new business and digital competencies, strengthening their capacity to implement innovative solutions and develop entrepreneurial initiatives within local communities.

An integral component of the project consisted of mentoring sessions, during which participants had the opportunity to work with experts from various countries, bringing extensive experience in entrepreneurship, advisory services, social work, humanitarian activities, and development cooperation. The exchange of knowledge and good practices enabled the young participants to better prepare for the challenges associated with operating in the agri-food sector.

The project concluded with a graduation ceremony held on 25 October 2025 in the Ilemela–Mwanza region. The event was attended by Mr Jakub Trzciński, Vice-Consul and representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, who highlighted the importance of the project for the development of youth entrepreneurship in Tanzania—one of the key areas of Polish–Tanzanian development cooperation.
