Thanks to Polish aid support, young people in Segerea can now use a new library
04.12.2025
In 2025, with funding from Polish aid, a newly established school library at St. Maximilian Educational Centre in Segerea was equipped, improving learning conditions for secondary school students.
Under a project financed by Polish aid, the school library was furnished with tables, chairs, and shelves for library collections. This made it possible to create an appropriate space for studying, reading, and preparing for classes. The direct beneficiaries of the project are secondary school students, whose educational and development opportunities have significantly improved.
St. Maximilian Educational Centre has been operating for 17 years and has supported over 1,800 children and young people at various stages of their education. In previous years, also with support from Polish aid, the Centre implemented projects aimed at increasing access to vocational education, including the construction and equipping of a vocational school and a kindergarten, as well as initiatives supporting the development of computer skills among teachers in Segerea.
At the conclusion of this year’s project, as part of monitoring activities, the Centre was visited by Katarzyna Sobiecka from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam.
