Польща в Україні

Учасники конференції обговорювали, серед іншого, наступні теми:

- масові поховання жертв радянських репресій в Україні: проблеми виявлення та дослідження;

- людський вимір Катинського злочину;

- українське відлуння Катині;

- меморіалізація історії періоду Другої світової війни: суспільно-культурний та політичний резонанс;

- україно-польські взаємини крізь призму місць національної пам’яті: пошуки нових форм взаємодії.

Конференція проходила в режимі он-лайн і зібрала понад 60 учасників - науковців, експертів з даної теми, соціальних активістів та фахівців, а також 180 глядачів та слухачів, зокрема з Польщі, різних центрів в Україні та Росії.

Конференцію відкрив Пан Бартош Ціхоцький, Посол Польщі в Україні, який наголосив на важливості польсько-українсько-російського співробітництва у дослідженнях щодо Катинського злочину та репресій НКВС, а також подякував за зусилля, докладені до цього часу в цій справі та за утримання пам'ятних місць.

Учасники конференції прийняли рішення, в якому висловлюють, серед іншого, бажання посилити співпрацю середовищ, які досліджують окремі аспекти Катинського злочину, подальший пошук місць поховань жертв та документів, пов'язаних зі злочином, наголошують на необхідності реабілітації жертв, а також продовженню дискусії з питань Катинського злочину у формі щорічних міжнародних науково-практичних конференцій, семінарів та круглих столів, які сприятимуть поглибленню досліджень та знань з теми злочину.

Невдовзі доповіді учасників дискусії будуть надруковані як постконференційні матеріали, а також розміщені на веб-сайті Національної бібліотеки України В. І. Вернадський.

2nd International Scientific-Practical Conference "Memorial site/sites. Polish-Ukrainian dialogue of understanding."

The 2nd International Scientific-Practical Conference, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Katyń Massacre – "Memorial site/sites. Polish-Ukrainian dialogue of understanding” – took place on 21 November 2020 and was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv, Federation of Polish Organizations in Ukraine and Institute of History of Ukraine of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The following topics, i.a., were discussed by the participants during the conference:

- mass burials of victims of Soviet repressions in Ukraine: research and exploration problems;

- human dimension of the Katyń Massacre;

- Ukrainian echoes of Katyń;

- memory of the Second World War history: socio-cultural and political resonance;

- Ukrainian-Polish relations through the prism of national memory sites: search for new forms of cooperation.

The conference was held on-line and gathered over 60 participants – scientists, experts, social activists – as well as 180 viewers and listeners from, i.a., Poland, various Ukraine environments and Russia.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine H.E. Bartosz Cichocki opened the conference. He emphasized the importance of Polish-Ukrainian-Russian cooperation aiming at developing the Katyń Massacre and NKVD repressions research, and thanked for the efforts made so far in this matter, as well as to those who keep the existing memorial sites well maintained.

Conference participants adopted a resolution in which they express, i.a, the willingness to strengthen the cooperation of communities, which make research on various aspects of the Katyń Massacre, to make further exploration aiming at finding burial places of the victims as well as documents related to the Massacre. The resolution also emphasizes that it is indispensable to rehabilitate the victims and to continue holding discussions on the Katyń Massacre in the form of annual international scientific-practical conferences, seminars and round tables, which will contribute to strengthening the research and broadening the knowledge on the subject of the Massacre.

The panelists' papers will soon be printed as post-conference materials and will also be available on the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine website.
