Poland in Australia

Celebration of the National Day of the Third of May took place on 8 May 2024. The event at the Embassy was attended, among others, by the representatives of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, headed by the Chief of Protocol Arthur Spyrou, by Minister for Multicultural Affairs in the ACT Government Mick Gentleman and by other federal administration officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Australian businesses, universities, think-tanks, as well as participants from the Polish community and by friends of Poland.

Thanks to the development assistance offered by "Polish Aid", together with Polish missionaries we have implemented six projects in Papua New Guinea in 2023. 2023 marked 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and Papua New Guinea.

Ceremony commemorating the 105th anniversary of Poland’s independence took place on 11 November at the Polish Embassy in Canberra. The event was inaugurated at 12 pm with singing of the National Anthem of Poland as part of the campaign “Niepodległa do Hymnu”.

Embassy of the Republic of Poland took part in the festival “Windows to the World” organised on 21 October by the ACT Government. Our guests had an opportunity to get to know more about Polish-Australian connections, enjoy traditional Polish folk dances and try specialties of Polish cuisine.

The concert at the Embassy of Poland in Canberra inaugurating the first annual Australian Chopin Festival took place on 28 September. The audience listened to an one-hour-long program of Poland’s greatest composer's works performed by Professor Ewa Pobłocka.

On 27 September 2023, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Maciej Chmieliński presented the Letter of Credence to His Excellency Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere CF, President of the Republic of Fiji.
