10 000 km with no emission for electromobility

20.10.2021

The Polish Chamber of Electromobility Development (PCED) launches The eMobi Road to COP that is a journey through Europe to Glasgow to submit a petition for establishment of the World Electromobility Day during this year COP 26 climate summit. Inauguration of the event held on 19 October 2021 in the Ministry of Climate and Environment was attended by Minister Michał Kurtyka.

10 000 km bez emisji dla elektromobilności

The initiative undertaken by the Polish Chamber of Electromobility Development addresses the actions aiming at promotion of electromobility in global scale. We need a strong voice and actions to promote electromobility and therefore I was delighted to join The eMobi Road to COP26 initiative. As the ministry of climate and environment we want all to know what electromobility is and what benefits it brings to all of us.  Zero emission, better comfort of drive and lower noise emission contribute all to our future

– said the Minister of Climate and Environment Michał Kurtyka during the kick-off meeting.

The eMobi Road to COP26 is the initiative aiming at highlighting the role of electromobility in decarbonisation of the transport sector as the effective technology to achieve the climate objectives. This is also more than 10 000 km to drive with electric cars between the COP host cities: Warsaw – Katowice – Glasgow and Rome as the partner of this year’s climate conference. The route covers such European capitals as: Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Ljubljana, Rome, Berlin, Brussels and London.

By implementing this project, we want to draw attention to the Poland’s contribution towards climate transformation, which was worked out during the COP24 conference in Katowice

– says Krzysztof Burda, President of the Polish Chamber of Electromobility Development.

Driving Change Together

The DRIVING CHANGE TOGETHER declaration is a joint initiative of Poland and Great Britain which highlights the role of zero-emission transport in the transport sector transformation process to achieve the climate objectives and build better future.

Just Transition and Solidarity

Just Transition and Solidarity – one of the COP24 outcomes – means just transformation of the regions, which will undergo profound changes in effect of decarbonisation of the energy sector. This is also the role of electromobility as the driving force for economic changes in the regions.

During implementation of the project, we will collect the signatures of the representatives of the countries, cities and regions, non-governmental organisations, media and other persons who will support the concept of establishing the World Electromobility Day by the United Nations. The petition will be available for signing also on-line on the official website of our Chamber. The electromobility communities in South America and ASEAN region are strong supporters of our idea

– explains Marcin Nowak from the Polish Chamber of Electromobility Development.

The eMobi Road to COP26 is held under the Honorary Patronage of the Minister of Climate and Environment, Minister of Infrastructure and of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
