30th anniversary of the Polish-German environmental scholarship scheme
12.06.2026
On 12 June 2026, the Ministry of Climate and Environment hosted a conference to mark the 30th anniversary of the Polish-German environmental scholarship scheme for the best graduates of Polish universities in environmental protection. The programme is highly prestigious and enables graduates and young researchers to undertake research internships in Germany.
For three decades, the Nowicki Foundation, in cooperation with the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) and the ‘Environment for the Environment’ Association, has been training professionals who today help to shape environmental policy in Poland, Germany and European institutions. The meeting was opened by Urszula Zielińska, State Secretary at the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
The anniversary conference provided an excellent opportunity to summarise the programme’s achievements and to discuss the future direction of Polish-German cooperation on environmental protection – in the context of the energy transition, the European Union’s climate policy and new environmental regulations.
