Almost PLN 0.5 billion from the National Recovery Plan for the construction of photovoltaic farms
22.12.2025
The Ministry of Climate and Environment, as the administrator of funds from the National Recovery Plan (NRP), supports the implementation of strategic investments in renewable energy sources. On 22 December 2025, two loan agreements were signed for a total value of PLN 475.32 million, which will enable the construction of large photovoltaic farms in Poland. The funds are managed by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK).
Highlights:
- Two loan agreements for a total value of PLN 475.32 million were signed using funds from NRP.
- These agreements were signed as part of the Energy Support Fund established by the Ministry of Climate and Environment. The Ministry of Climate and Environment is the administrator of the funds, and BGK is the operator.
- Two agreements were signed for the construction of photovoltaic farms with a total power of almost 250 MWp:
- TAURON photovoltaic farms in Mysłowice and Ogrodzieniec in the Śląskie Voivodship (Silesia). Their total power will be 120 MWp, and the value of the loan is over PLN 268 million. The investment is scheduled for completion in December 2027.
- The 127 MWp Żary-Marciszów photovoltaic power plant, which will be built in the Lubuskie Voivodship (Lubusz). This investment, worth over PLN 206 million, will be implemented between 2025 and 2029 and will significantly increase the share of solar energy in the national energy mix.
The signed agreements are an important step towards achieving Poland's climate goals and building a modern, zero-emission economy. As the Ministry of Climate and Environment, we are responsible for distributing funds from the National Recovery Plan, which support investments in renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, energy storage, modernising power grids, transforming heating systems and developing hydrogen and biofuel technologies. Thanks to these measures, we are accelerating the decarbonisation process, strengthening the country's energy security and reducing energy prices
– said Krzysztof Bolesta, the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment.
Two key RES investments
The signed agreements concern the implementation of two large photovoltaic projects that will significantly increase the share of renewable energy sources in the national energy mix. Both projects are examples of modern solutions supporting Poland's energy transition.
TAURON photovoltaic farms
- Capacity: 120 MWp
- Loan: PLN 268.65 million
- Implementation: November 2025 – December 2027
- Location: Mysłowice and Ogrodzieniec (Śląskie Voivodship)
Żary-Marciszów PV Power Plant (Elektrownia PV Żary-Marciszów Sp. z o.o.)
- Capacity: 127 MWp
- Loan: PLN 206.67 million
- Implementation: November 2025 – June 2029
- Location: Żary and Nowogród Bobrzański municipalities (Lubuskie Voivodship).
Larger pool of funds for energy transition
The signed agreements are part of a broad programme of loans supporting Poland's energy transition. Under the second call for investments G3.1.4 NRP ‘Support for the national energy system – Energy Support Fund’, PLN 7.121 billion is available.
In total, the Ministry of Climate and Energy has allocated PLN 70 billion to the Energy Support Fund. Low-interest loans from the National Recovery Plan will be used under the Energy Support Fund for the expansion and modernisation of distribution and transmission networks, the development of smart grids, energy storage and the construction of new sources, including PV power plants. The aim of the Fund is to accelerate the decarbonisation process and improve energy efficiency through better integration of renewable energy sources into the national power system.
