Deputy Minister Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński on the COP26 challenges

The priorities of the next climate summit and the development of wind energy were the main topics of the meeting of Deputy Minister of Climate Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński with John Murton, the UK government plenipotentiary for the organization of COP26. The meeting took place on 13 February 2020 in Warsaw.

The two ministers talked about the upcoming climate summit, which this year will be hosted by the United Kingdom. The subject of the energy transition towards climate neutrality was also raised during the meeting. During the conversation, Deputy Minister Adam Guibourge-Czetwertyński referred to the Polish government’s plans to increase the use of renewable energy sources and pointed to the development of solar energy, both in industrial and prosumer terms.

He also emphasised that Poland, as a signatory to the Paris Agreement and a member of the EU, is aware of the need to achieve climate neutrality, and that financing of energy transition adapted to the needs is a key element of this process.
