The representatives of the invited countries declared their willingness to take coherent activities, which, in their opinion, will allow to strengthen their voice in international forums.

“The talks in Budapest on the challenges and experiences related to the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2030 and the adoption and implementation of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework, including management of the Natura 2000 network, contributed to an even better understanding of our individual perspectives and will be an excellent platform for strengthening cooperation”

– said Deputy Minister Piotr Dziadzio.

“We, the V4+ countries, can boast of exceptional natural wealth, unique on an European scale. We are also united by similar historical and economic conditions”

– he stressed.

The host of the meeting – Minister Nagy – pointed out that we are on track to effectively implement the ambitious goals of the EU biodiversity protection strategy. He added that these actions must be taken right now to ensure the preservation of natural resources, which are depleting and disappearing at an alarming rate.

The V4+ format is a proven way of agreeing on the positions of new EU countries, also as regards the environmental and climate protection. That is why Poland proposed that cooperation in this area should also be transferred to the expert level, which will be conducive to deepening reflection and will allow to operationalise the proposed solutions.
