Deputy Minister Jacek Ozdoba on the establishment of a working group for the privatisation of heating network in Warsaw
19.01.2021
Following another failure of the heating network in the Polish capital in just a few days, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Jacek Ozdoba announced that he had appointed a working group to investigate the privatisation of the heating network in Warsaw.
The commission is to examine the privatisation of the heating network in 2011 by a French entity. The working group will investigate how well the company is performing its tasks and whether, from a time perspective, the privatisation of the network was viable.
The disproportionate number of heating network failures that prevent heat from being received not only by numerous residential buildings but also, among others, a hospital, raise concerns. It would be inappropriate to underestimate such important topics as the heating system in a European capital, and the citizens of Warsaw should be provided with detailed explanations on this matter, said Deputy Minister Ozdoba.
All interested parties were invited to participate in the commission works, including Presidents Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and Rafał Trzaskowski, as well as Warsaw municipal councillors.
The work of the group for Warsaw heating privatisation will be summarised with a report.
