Nuclear power is the only real basis for an effective, safe and equitable transformation of the world's economies. It is a stable, secure and zero-emission source of clean energy, which is also a prerequisite for the further dynamic development of renewable energy sources.

- Minister Anna Łukaszewska-Trzeciakowska said in her speech.

During the event, a declaration was adopted on tripling nuclear power generation capacity by 2050, increasing and facilitating funding for nuclear power plant construction, and promoting nuclear energy as clean energy. The declaration was adopted by the leaders of more than 20 countries, including Poland, France, the USA, Romania, the UK, and Sweden.

There is no doubt in my mind that global climate negotiations should take into account the leading role of nuclear power as a critical technology needed to achieve zero emissions

- emphasised the Minister of Climate and Environment in her speech.

The event was also attended by, among others, John Kerry, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, as well as the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and numerous energy and climate transition ministers.

"The declaration adopted at COP28 to triple nuclear power generation capacity by 2050 is a real breakthrough," Minister Anna Łukaszewska-Trzeciakowska said while summarising the Tripling Nuclear Energy by 2050 event in social media and statements to the media.
