The Coordination Mechanism for Cooperation between China and CEEC serves strengthening of Polish-Chinese cooperation in the field of forestry, which was initiated in 2014 with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation in the field of forestry.

Poland enjoys being among the countries that are very active at the regional level in the field of forestry cooperation. Forests are not only important for Poland and Europe, but also for the world. Poland has been present at all forestry-related forums and has organised and hosted ministerial conferences on these issues, said Vice-Minister Golińska.

During the meeting, Vice–Minister Małgorzata Golińska also spoke about the current and future CEEC 16+1 working programme, as well as climate change and forestry.

We need to create a framework for cooperation suitable for the current challenges, so that we can strengthen the effectiveness of our joint action in forestry, in Europe and in China. Further work under the Coordination Mechanism for Cooperation between China and CEEC should be based on issues constituting the most crucial challenges for forestry in the 21st century, – the Vice-Minister added.

Vice–Minister Małgorzata Golińska also met with Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia, Jože Podgoršek. Their meeting focused on the direction of future work for the Coordination Mechanism, the participants also presented opportunities for cooperation and challenges for forestry in both countries.
