Forest Europe Ministerial Conference

15.04.2021

“We need to popularise direct contact between the public and the Forest Services, while promoting the benefits of sustainable forest management. Making the forests more accessible to the general public is conducive to communication and information activities,” the Vice-Minister of Climate and Environment pointed out during the Forest Europe Ministerial Conference.

Wiceminister klimatu i środowiska Edward Siarka

The main highlight of the conference was the official signing of the Ministerial Declaration and Resolution on sustainable forest management and climate change adaptation. According to Vice-Minister Edward Siarka, the adaptation of forests to climate change is necessary, if we want to mitigate the negative impact of the change on the environment, increase forest resilience and protect their multiple functions.

The Forest Europe conference, which was held on 14-15 April, is the most important European forum for debates and key decisions on forestry issues at European level. It aims at adopting political commitments for a new strategic framework and related actions for sustainable forest management in Europe.
