Meeting with the German Ambassador
27.10.2020
The Minister of Climate and Environment Michał Kurtyka and German Ambassador to Poland Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven talked about issues related to climate and energy policy. The meeting took place on 26 October in Warsaw.
Climate is one of the key issues for both countries and we face largely similar challenges. We are glad to have a partner who understands the specific situation that Poland faces in this regard said Minister Michał Kurtyka during the meeting.
At the meeting, the two politicians talked about developing and strengthening cooperation in the field of hydrogen and offshore wind energy, which Poland and Germany treat as a key priority in the context of current challenges related to the energy and climate transformation.
In June 2021 we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Good Neighbourhood and Friendly Cooperation between Germany and Poland. As the Minister of Climate and Environment pointed out, this will be a good opportunity to sup up our cooperation over the last three decades, including on energy and climate policy, and to look ahead to further areas of bilateral cooperation.
