Meeting with the World Bank representatives

Vice-Minister of Climate and Environment Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński attended the meeting with the World Bank representatives, which was held on 15 July 2021 in the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

The meeting was held on the initiative of the World Bank to discuss the priorities of cooperation between Poland and the World Bank, including energy transformation, green restart, electromobility, including in particular implementation of the “Clean Air” programme.

Energy transformation is a priority. According to our estimations, the entire energy transformation process performed in a just manner, will require the investments of nearly EUR 350 billion in 2021-2040. This is why the cooperation with the financial partners is of key importance to us

– said Vice-Minister Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński.

We want to make use of the opportunities resulting from diversified sources, including renewable energy, nuclear energy, transitional role of natural gas in decarbonisation of the Polish energy mix, in accordance with the Polish Energy Policy 2040

– he added.

The World Bank delegation was composed of Gallina Vincelette, World Bank's Country Director for the European Union, Marcus Bernhard Heinz, Permanent Representative of the Bank for Poland and Baltic States, Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska, Executive Director representing Poland in the Board of the World Bank.
