Minister Anna Moskwa convened the Crisis Management Team of the Ministry of Climate and Environment. The purpose is to reduce toxic 'golden algae' blooms

The Crisis Management Team of the Ministry of Climate and Environment recommends, among other things, temporarily cutting off the Oder's oxbow lakes, using natural protective barriers in water bodies to stop the development of 'golden algae', systemic management of industrial and domestic wastewater discharges depending on the results of water parameters, including salinity and nutrient content of municipal wastewater, and maintaining maximum retention capacity in the Oder River basin. In addition, oxygenation of water when oxygen concentrations fall to limit values and close monitoring of storm discharges in case of heavy rainfall.

The recommendations are based on previously developed procedures, worked out in expert, scientific working teams, with the cooperation of the services. The measures aim to limit the development of 'golden algae' and reduce the risk of toxic blooms.
