Key to a successful transition
During the opening of the Forum, the minister highlighted strategic issues related to the energy transition.
Access to clean technologies and strategic raw materials will be crucial to the success of the energy transition. Climate policy must respond to this challenge. We cannot replace critical dependencies on fossil fuel imports with critical dependencies on clean technology imports
– said Krzysztof Bolesta, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment.
Risks and challenges
In his speech, Minister Krzysztof Bolesta also pointed out that energy policy and energy security today require a comprehensive approach that covers both traditional threats and new risks. This approach is crucial for Poland, Germany and the entire European Union. Among these new risks, which have a direct impact on social and economic challenges, Minister Bolesta mentioned cybersecurity, the resilience of critical raw material supply chains, as well as issues of affordability and ensuring the competitiveness of EU industry.
Energy security and affordability were one of the pillars during the Polish Presidency of the EU Council.
