Minister Michał Kurtyka met with U.S. Ambassador Georgette Mosbacher

Minister of Climate and Environment Michał Kurtyka spoke with the U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher, in connection with the forthcoming end of her diplomatic mission in Poland. The meeting took place on 7 January 2021.
On 20 January 2021 the U.S. Ambassador, Georgette Mosbacher, will end her diplomatic mission in Poland. During the term of Ambassador Mosbacher's office, Polish-American relations developed particularly in the areas of energy, climate and environment.
In recent years, this concerned especially the scientific and technological achievements of the United States in the area of energetics, which have made this country an important energy partner for Poland.
We appreciate the impressive achievements of the United States, which are important for maintaining a modern and competitive energy sector. We look forward to continuing intensive and fruitful cooperation with our American partners, mainly in the field of investment in the nuclear sector in Poland, said Minister Michał Kurtyka during the meeting.
I would like to highlight my appreciation and gratitude for the personal contribution of Madame Ambassador to promoting relations between our countries. I am convinced that thanks to the relationship we have developed in recent years, our bilateral relations will continue to develop, added the minister.
During the term of office of Ambassador Mosbacher, on 19 and 22 October 2020, an agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the United States on cooperation for the development of the nuclear energy programme, to be used for civil purposes and civil nuclear industry in the Republic of Poland, and on 11 December 2020, an agreement was concluded between the Government of the Republic of Poland and Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) on multi-annual bilateral cooperation in the financing of projects in Poland.
