The planned date for signing agreements with regional funds is 15 May this year. The financing amounts to 125.3 million PLN, out of which 104.5 million will be provided by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, while the remaining 20.8 million will be provided by Regional Funds for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

What is more, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has also announced a call for applications for the so-called “Small Fireman” programme for regional funds, which will be carried out on 11-15 May this year. The amount earmarked for the call is 16 million PLN (1 million for each regional fund, but not more than 25,000 PLN for one Voluntary Fire Brigade unit). The subsidy may be used for the purchase of personal equipment for firemen, means of communication as well as additional equipment, such as ladders, power generators or mechanical saws.

“The money we give to the firefighters is an investment in our future and improved safety. It will contribute to the activities aimed at protecting human life and health, as well as property from fires. Thus, firefighters will be able to deal even better and more efficiently with the effects of natural disasters,” the Minister of Climate Michał Kurtyka pointed out.

“I am glad that that we can share this good news today as we celebrate the International Firefighters’ Day. In recent days, we could have seen and appreciate your contribution to the protection of our common good – the Biebrza National Park. I will use this opportunity to thank you for your responsible and demanding service,” the Minister added.
