The Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa and the Undersecretary of State, Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński met with Leslie Scanlon, the Ambassador of Canada and Anna Clunes, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland in Poland. The meeting was held on 9 February 2022, at the seat of the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

The State Forests are launching a nationwide campaign to purchase land for new forests. We encourage all owners of land on which a forest can be created to visit forest inspectorates with an offer for sale.

On 8 February 2022, the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, attended the meeting of the V4, Austrian and German Ministers in charge of energy. The meeting was held in Budapest, as part of the ongoing Hungarian Presidency of the Visegrad Group.

The Energy market in Europe and manipulations on the part of Gazprom are the main subjects of talks at the virtual meeting of the Directors General for Energy. The event held on 2 February 2022 was attended by Deputy Minister Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński.

The Polish-Czech negotiations concerning the Turów Mine turned out to be successful. On 3 February 2022, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, accompanied by the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, and the Czech Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, signed an agreement definitively ending the dispute with our southern neighbours. According to the provisions of the agreement, the Czech complaint will be withdrawn from the CJEU.

„The objective of the proposed regulations regarding the deposit system is to reduce the amount of waste generated, to ensure high-quality waste for recycling and to use recycled waste as an important source of raw materials” – said the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Jacek Ozdoba, at a press conference held on 1 February 2022.

“The voice of experts is extremely important in the social discussion about the Białowieża Forest. There is a lot of false information in the media. Now, our main objective is to prepare an integrated management plan for the Białowieża Forest World Heritage Site, which will be ready by the end of the year” – said Deputy Minister Edward Siarka at the conference entitled “The state of ecosystems in the Białowieża Forest”, which was held on 28 January 2022.

Energy transition and potential areas of Polish-Serbian cooperation are among the subjects of the meeting between the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Piotr Dziadzio and a group of parliamentarians from the Republic of Serbia. The talks were held on 25 January 2022 at the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

Just transition, rising prices of energy, energy efficiency, the hydrogen economy and the fight against deforestation are just some of the subjects at the informal meetings of the EU Ministers of Environment and Energy. The events, which were held on 20-22 January 2022 in Amiens, France, were attended by the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński.

The third part of the „Clean Air” programme with the highest co-financing of up to PLN 69 thousand with the monthly income not exceeding PLN 900 or PLN 1,260 per capita (applies to multi-person and single-person households, respectively), and for people with an established right to receive an allowance, as well as amendments to the current programme to make it even easier to receive subsidies – these are the next milestones in the fight against smog. The Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, during a visit to Bieruń in Silesia announced that the new rules in the „Clean Air” programme will come into force as from 25 January 2022.
