On 17 January 2022, Minister Anna Moskwa met with Daphne Bergsma, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Poland. The goal of the meeting was the exchange of views on, among others, energy and climate transformation, priorities in the Fit for 55 negotiations, the Social Climate Fund, and the potential for cooperation between Poland and the Netherlands in the field of renewable energy sources.

On 18 January 2022, Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, met with Anna Hubáčková, Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic, to talk about the Turów lignite mine. The meeting, which was the first official one after the changes in the Czech government, is a continuation of the Polish-Czech talks on the mine in Turów. The Polish side hopes that this dispute will soon be resolved.

On 13 January 2022, Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, met with Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Energy, Daiva Garbaliauskaitė. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of cooperation between Poland and Lithuania in the field of renewable energy, including the development of offshore projects.

Energy and climate priorities of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union were the main subject at the meeting of the Visegrad Group (V4) Ministers of Environment.

On 12 January 2022, the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, met with the German Ambassador, Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven.

„For a week, it has been possible to submit applications for the inflation allowance which is a key element of the government anti-inflation shield. The support amounting to more than PLN 4 billion will be provided to nearly 7 million of households. This tool will reduce the current price rises” – said the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, on 11 January 2022 during a press conference held at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

On 5 January 2022, the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, signed the regulation amending the regulation on detailed rules of setting and calculating tariffs and financial settlements in electricity trading.

On 17 December, the Senate of the Republic of Poland adopted the Act on compensation for income lost by communes in 2018 in connection with the changed scope of taxation of wind farms, as submitted by the Minister of Climate and Environment. According to it, compensation will be paid to communes in 2022 based on an application submitted, as attached to the Act. The document will be submitted to the President of the Republic of Poland for signature.

The history and functioning of the Białowieski National Park is the major subject of the webinar which inaugurated the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Białowieski National Park. The event, which was held on 21 December 2021, was attended by the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Małgorzata Golińska.

The review of the “Fit for 55” package and the scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading are among the topics raised at the meeting of the EU Environment Council (ENVI) in Brussels. The meeting, which was held on 20 December, was attended by Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa and Deputy Minister Adam Guibourgé – Czetwertyński.
