NFEP&WM increases "Mój Prąd" (My Electricity) programme budget by additional PLN 100 million.

10.11.2020

Although the call for proposals in the "Mój Prąd" programme will run until 18 December this year, the applicants have already exhausted a billion PLN grant pool dedicated to micro photovoltaic installations. But there is also good news: the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEP&WM) is not closing the call but is adding an additional PLN 100 million for investments in electricity production from prosumer PV installations of 2-10 kW.

We are not surprised by the huge interest in photovoltaics and the avalanche of applications for subsidies of up to PLN 5 000. I am glad that the awareness of our society is growing, and that ecology simply pays off. Using our own electricity, produced from the sun, translates into savings in our wallets, but these are also measurable benefits for the environment. Investment in renewable energy sources under "Mój Prąd" programme will contribute to a reduction of CO2 by as much as 1 000 000 000 kg/year" - says the Minister of Climate and Environment, Michał Kurtyka.

On 6 November, a 200 000th application has been submitted to the NFEP&WM, which has exhausted a one billionth budget of "Mój Prąd" programme.

The total capacity of the installations from the submitted applications amounts to 1.2 GW and they will produce about 1200 GWh/year of electricity. Comparing this result to the power of 3.77 MW of the largest Polish photovoltaic farm (in the Czernikowo municipality near Toruń), the "Mój Prąd" programme will finance over 300 such investments" - says the Government Plenipotentiary for RES, Deputy Minister Ireneusz Zyska.

In order to meet the expectations of our applicants and to fulfil our promise to complete the call for applications in just over a month's time, we decided, together with the Ministry of Climate and Environment, to increase the pool of available funds in the "Mój Prąd" programme. The additional PLN 100 million is an opportunity for another 20 000 citizens" - adds Paweł Mirowski, Deputy President of NFEP&WM.

There is further good news precedes the finalisation of the second call under the "Mój Prąd" programme, which started on 13 January 2020. The programme will continue in 2021. The new version will provide for potential beneficiaries a wider range of opportunities.

"Mój Prąd" is one of the largest programmes in Europe for financing micro photovoltaic installations for natural persons who produce electricity for their own use. The condition for benefiting from the programme, which started in mid-2019, is a comprehensive agreement regulating the introduction into the grid of electricity produced by private micro-installations.
