OECD appreciates Poland's climate and environmental measures

On Thursday 11 June 2026, Deputy Minister Krzysztof Bolesta met with representatives of the OECD Secretariat from the Organisation's Environment Directorate, who were taking part in an assessment mission to Poland. This is part of the environmental review process for our country, which analyses Poland's policies and achievements in areas such as renewable energy, nature conservation, air quality and adaptation to climate change.

A mission from the OECD Secretariat, as part of the 4th Environmental Performance Review of Poland within the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, visited Poland from 8 to 11 June 2026. This review analyses the environmental aspects of sustainable development, with sustainable forestry being the subject of an in-depth analysis.

The review covers the last twelve years. The final outcome of Poland’s 4th Environmental Performance Review will be the report entitled ‘Environmental Performance Review of Poland’, which will include both an assessment of the progress Poland has made during the period under review and recommendations for further action.

The meeting with Deputy Minister Bolesta served to exchange views on specific policies and to present the Mission’s preliminary findings following several days of talks and consultations. As part of these, the OECD Secretariat met with representatives from both the government and the non-governmental sector, including independent environmental organisations, independent experts, business representatives and local authorities.

The report should be published in early 2027.
