Of climate ambitions of Poland and Austria with Ambassador Werner Almhofer

Vice-Minister of Climate and Environment Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński attended the valedictory meeting of the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Poland, Werner Almhofer, which was held on 23 July 2021 in the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

During the meeting of Ambassador Almhofer, the Vice-Minister emphasized the goals faced by Poland in context of the new climate and energy ambitions of the European Union and the fact that they represent a major challenge for Europe as a whole.

Vice-Minister Guibourgé-Czetwertyński pointed out that Poland is committed to continue energy transformation and reduce emissions in a sustainable manner, developing the renewable energy sources, gas and nuclear energy at the same time.

Energy transformation of Poland is a process planned for a long-time perspective due to its capital-intensive nature and significant scale of the necessary technical and socio-economic changes

– he said.

During the meeting, the Vice-Minister expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the personal contribution of Ambassador Werner Wernet Almhofer in promoting the relationships between Austria and Poland.

We hope for continuation of fruitful cooperation with the Austrian Party, including in particular in the area of the EU’s climate and energy policy. Poland is deeply committed to strengthening of bilateral cooperation with the Austrian government

– he said.

Another issue mentioned by the Ambassador of Austria was the visit of the President of this country to Poland scheduled for autumn 2021 and the potential involvement of the Ministry of Climate and Environment in the auxiliary events included in the visit agenda related to promotion of cooperation in the area of climate and energy between the two countries.
