Environmental and climate issues, building resilience, adapting to climate change and Polish green technologies - these were the main topics of discussion for Urszula Zielińska, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, during her meetings in Lithuania.
Shared environmental and energy challenges
Deputy Minister Urszula Zielińska met with Lithuanian Deputy Minister for the Environment Aira Paliukenaitė, as well as Deputy Minister for Energy Gabriel Gorbačevski. The talks focused on the current challenges facing both Poland and Lithuania, including climate resilience, water resource management, security, energy independence and the protection of border regions.
Business Forum: ‘Poland and Lithuania: Together Towards a Green Future’
A key part of Deputy Minister Urszula Zielińska’s visit to Lithuania was her participation in the forum ‘Poland-Lithuania: Together Towards a Green Future’. The event was attended by politicians, as well as representatives from the worlds of business, academia and the green technology sector.
Discussions centred on how to strengthen the strategic partnership between Lithuania and Poland, thereby building a secure, competitive and sustainable future.

Particular attention was paid to the East Green Shield project, which, by restoring wetlands and peatlands, not only replenishes natural resources but also enhances security along Poland’s eastern border.
Promoting Polish green technologies
A key element of the forum was the presentation of Polish environmental solutions grouped under the Ministry of Climate and Environment’s ‘GreenEvo – Green Technology Accelerator’ programme. Polish entrepreneurs presented their pro-environmental and pro-climate solutions, as well as dual-use technologies and those enhancing the security of critical infrastructure: technologies for industrial wastewater treatment, water biomonitoring, modern waste sorting systems, air filtration, and smart city solutions.
Fourteen winners of the GreenEvo programme took part in the trade mission, participating in a business forum and holding a series of B2B meetings organised in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in Vilnius.
