During the today’s meeting, the Polish and Slovakian parties presented the main assumptions of the national park operation reform, discussed them and exchanged their experiences.

The Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment has been working on the draft act on the national parks, aiming at, among others, emphasizing the role of the national park in the protection of both natural and cultural heritage of the country

– said Deputy Minister Małgorzata Golińska.

The draft act on the national parks will contain the solutions related to the establishment of national parks, focusing on gaining traction of the local communities and governments for this concept. In the next year’s budget, the subsidy for the national parks will be increased by 45%. The amended strategy of national parks management in Poland postulates the establishment of the new entity under the working name “Polish National Parks” consisting of the General Directorate of Polish National Parks and the national parks.
