The Ministry of Climate and Environment, as the Programme Operator for the ‘Green Transition’ Programme implemented under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2021–2028, invites you to attend the opening conference.

The event will officially launch the Programme and present support available for projects in the areas of climate, energy, nature conservation and the circular economy.

Why attend?

During the event, you will:

  • learn about the key features and objectives of the ‘Green Transition’ Programme;
  • find out which activities may be eligible for funding;
  • receive information on the planned calls for proposals and their launch schedule;
  • gain practical guidance on preparing projects;
  • learn about the opportunities offered by cooperation with partners from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein;
  • hear about the experiences of beneficiaries from the previous edition of the EEA Grants;
  • have the opportunity to ask questions to representatives of the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, and the Donor States.

What will we discuss?

The conference programme will include a presentation of funding opportunities for projects in the four Programme areas:

  • Climate – climate change adaptation, mitigation measures, climate education and air quality improvement;
  • Energy – support for energy communities, development of geothermal energy, energy storage and CCUS technologies (Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage);
  • Nature – ecosystem and biodiversity conservation, the establishment of new nature reserves, the development of nature monitoring and support for environmental data systems;
  • Circular Economy – closing the water cycle, circularity in construction and green public procurement.

Particular attention will be given to the calls for proposals scheduled to be launched first, as well as to practical information relevant to prospective applicants.

International cooperation and partnerships

Cooperation with entities from the Donor States is an important element of the Programme. During the conference, representatives of partner institutions will discuss opportunities for developing project partnerships, the support available to beneficiaries and the benefits of international cooperation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Date: 30 September 2026
  • Time: 9:45–15:20 (registration from 9:15)
  • Participation: in person at Przestrzenie Bruna, 22 Białostocka Street, Warsaw
  • Registration: On-site participation in the event is free of charge. Possible after prior e-mail registration (e-mail: mfeog@klimat.gov.pl) and confirmation from the Programme Operator.

The number of places for in-person participants is limited. Registration does not guarantee participation in the event. Confirmation of in-person participation will be sent in a separate message to the email address provided in the registration form. Participants will be selected based on the order in which registrations are received. In the event of high interest, the organiser may limit the number of participants from the same institution.

Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to the conference.

We invite potential applicants and prospective project partners to take part in the event, in particular:

  • local government units and their associations;
  • representatives of public administration;
  • enterprises, including municipal companies;
  • scientific institutions and research institutes;
  • non-governmental organisations (NGOs);
  • public entities responsible for nature conservation.

We invite you to join the opening conference of the ‘Green Transition’ Programme and jointly mark the beginning of the new edition of the EEA and Norway Grants.

The event is financed from the funds of the ‘Green Transition’ Programme, provided under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2021–2028.
