Highlights

• The Ministry of Climate and Environment, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, and companies affiliated with GreenEvo played a significant role at the international Ukraine Recovery conference held in Gdańsk. 
• During the conference, a letter of intent was signed concerning cooperation and the exchange of experiences between the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEP&WM) and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, as well as an agreement between the Office for Chemical Substances in Poland and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine on cooperation regarding the sound management of chemical substances and the assurance of chemical safety.
• Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska spoke at a high-level panel alongside Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
• Deputy Minister Urszula Zielińska took part in a workshop alongside Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

During the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Gdańsk, a letter of intent was signed concerning cooperation and the exchange of experiences between the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Poland and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

Poland is ready and willing to share its institutional knowledge and experience with our Ukrainian friends. We want to be an active and reliable partner in this process. Let us work together to ensure that Ukraine’s reconstruction is not merely a return to the pre-war status quo, but also a transformation of the country – a shift towards a greener, stronger and more resilient future for Ukraine and the whole of Europe

– said Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska during a high-level panel discussion entitled ‘From compliance to capital: how green reforms unlock EU investment for Ukraine’, attended by Oleksii Sobolev, Ukraine’s Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

Also signed an agreement between the Office for Chemical Substances in Poland and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine on cooperation in the field of sound management of chemical substances and ensuring chemical safety.

Deputy Minister Urszula Zielińska took part in a workshop entitled ‘Ukraine’s Green Recovery: Practical Steps, Challenges and Opportunities’, attended by, amongst others, Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

Poland’s experience shows that environmental transition is a challenge, but at the same time an opportunity to modernise the economy and increase its resilience. Ukraine’s reconstruction should take climate resilience and innovative technological solutions into account from the outset

– said Urszula Zielińska, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment.

At the conference, the Ministry of Climate and Environment shared its expertise on the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies and plans for energy and climate, as well as the restoration of natural resources. For this reason, we also invited Tomasz Pasierbek, Director of the Babia Góra National Park, to take part in the debate alongside Deputy Minister Urszula Zielińska. He outlined Poland’s experience in establishing and managing national parks.

Meanwhile, in the business zone, where Polish companies were showcasing their offerings, three enterprises awarded under the GreenEvo project as green technology accelerator also presented their solutions.

SYMBIONA S.A. demonstrated an innovative method of wastewater treatment with maximum biogas recovery and the production of ultra-pure water from wastewater; WindTAK Sp. z o.o. showcased technology to increase the efficiency of wind turbines; and POLSKA SYNERGIA presented an innovative energy storage system.
