The new Chief Inspector of Environmental Protection

On request of the Minister of Climate and Environment Michał Kurtyka, the President of the Council of Ministers Mateusz Morawiecki appointed Michał Pietrzak the Chief Inspector of Environmental Protection. The new Chief Inspector was nominated on 17 September.
Michał Mistrzak is the graduate of law from the Wroclaw University and of management from the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. Former officer of the Central Investigation Bureau of Police with twenty years of experience.
Co-creator of the Department for Combating Organised Crime in the General Inspectorate for Environmental Protection, in which he acted as the deputy director for the last several months. Co-author of the greatest amendment of the Penal Code and the Code of Administrative Offences in the area of combating environmental crime since the 1990s. Michał Mistrzak used his experience and expertise to cooperate with the central authorities of the state administration, law enforcement and justice authorities to fight crimes against the environment, including in particular the attempts of illegal waste transport to Poland.
In the course of professional career, he was involved in fighting organised crime of transboundary, criminal, narcotic and economic nature throughout the country and outside its borders. Participant of numerous trainings in the EU states on the identification and combating organised crime.
