    The 135th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe took place in Chișinău on 14-15 May 2026. The Polish delegation was represented by Mr. Artur Harazim, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event concluded Republic of Moldova's six-month Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

    On 29 April 2026, Hubert Czerniuk, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, handed over to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, a letter from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, constituting a declaration of intent to accede to the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Management Committee of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine.

    On 26 March 2026 acting on behalf of Poland, Maciej Wróbel, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, signed the Council of Europe Convention on the Co-production of Audiovisual Works in the Form of Series. The signing ceremony took place in Lille (France) during the Series Mania festival. This Convention constitutes the first international legal framework dedicated to the independent co-production of television and streaming series and represents a decisive step for the European and global audiovisual sector in times of rapid change.

    From 16 to 18 March 2026, the 59th joint meeting of the Administrative Council and the Governing Board of the Council of Europe Development Bank was held in Warsaw. During the meeting, the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe Development Bank was celebrated. The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Poland.

    On 23 January, the Permanent Representations of Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom to the Council of Europe organized a screening of the film 'The Zone of Interest' directed by Jonathan Glazer. The date of the screening was linked to the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp (27 January), celebrated as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The Seminar's special guest was Michael O'Flaherty, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe. Due to increased importance of migration, this year's edition focused on the legal and geopolitical contexts of migration.
