The Department formulates and implements Poland’s foreign policy objectives towards selected countries in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, as well as the South Caucasus, including those that are candidates for or aspire to membership in the European Union. Furthermore, it oversees matters related to Poland’s membership in the EU, particularly in the areas of the Union’s enlargement policy, the Eastern Partnership, and the EU Strategy for the Black Sea Region.
