On 7 June, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau awarded the Bene Merito honorary distinctions to animateurs of contemporary Jewish social, cultural and religious life in Poland and Polish-Jewish relations.

On 6-7 June 2022, Secretary of State Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk visited Pristina. The Poland-Kosovo talks focused on bilateral cooperation, European integration, and security situation in Europe.

In recent years, the COVID-19 pandemic has presented the Polish Foreign Service with challenges that would be impossible to meet without the commitment and dedicated work of medical professionals. In special recognition of their efforts, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau awarded seven persons with the Bene Merito honorary distinctions during a ceremony held today at the MFA headquarters.

The Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe met with Mongolia’s President Uchnaagijn Chürelsüch, Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg, and other high-ranking public officials.

In Tashkent, Minister Rau talked with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov, and chairmen of the two chambers of parliament, Tanzila Narbayeva and Nurdinjan Ismailov.

Between 30 May and 1 June, Secretary of State Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk visited Bosnia and Herzegovina. The deputy minister, together with Secretary of State at Bosnia and Herzegovina’s MFA Josip Brkić, LOT Polish Airlines’ Vice-President Katarzyna Piskorz, and Managing Director of the Sarajevo airport Alan Bajić, attended the launch of a direct air link between Warsaw and Sarajevo operated by the LOT Polish Airlines.

Today, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau concluded his official two-day visit to Kazakhstan. During his stay in Nur-Sultan, the chief of Polish diplomacy met with Kazakhstan’s highest authorities: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, chairmen of the two chambers of parliament – Maulen Ashimbayev and Yerlan Koshanov, as well as with Acting Foreign Minister Akan Rakhmetullin. Minister Zbigniew Rau also met with Human Rights Commissioner Elvira Azimova and civil society representatives.

On 31 May, Minister Zbigniew Rau will meet with the French Republic’s new Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna.

On 27 May, in Istanbul, Minister Zbigniew Rau met with his counterparts from Romania and Turkey, Bogdan Aurescu and Mevlütem Çavuşoğlu, under the Trilogue initiative.

Between 31 May and 6 June, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau will travel to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia on another official visit in his capacity as OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
