The 33rd session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Europe almost unanimously adopted a decision condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. In the adopted document member states expressed their concern about the impact of Russian aggression on world food security, as well as the rising prices of food, fertilizers and energy.

On 10 May, Secretary of State at the Polish MFA Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk visited Budapest to attend working consultations on the response to the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The 33rd session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ Regional Conference for Europe (ERC33) will be held on 10 - 13 May in Łódź, during which the issues of ensuring food security and the transformation of agrifood systems will be discussed. The event will be attended by representatives of agriculture ministries from 50 countries in Europe and Central Asia.

On 7-9 May 2022, invited by the Iranian side, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau paid an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran during which he met with the Republic’s President Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and held political consultations with Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

On 7-9 May 2022, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau will pay an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran at the invitation of the Iranian side. During the visit, Poland’s top diplomat will meet with Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and President of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf. He will also hold political consultations with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

On 5 May, the National Stadium in Warsaw hosted an International Donors’ Conference, organised on the initiative of Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Sweden’s Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and attended either in person or online by heads of states and governments of 21 countries, humanitarian organisations, financial institutions as well as representatives of the global business community.
