On 8 February 2022, Minister Zbigniew Rau will pay a visit to Vienna to take part in a high-level meeting that will inaugurate the Renewed OSCE European Security Dialogue, conducted under the auspices of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

Stefano Sannino, Secretary General of the European External Action Service, paid a visit to Warsaw at the invitation of Minister Arkady Rzegocki, Head of the Foreign Service at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Zbigniew Rau concluded a three-day visit to the United States. While in Washington, D.C., he held talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs on the National Security Council Kurt Campbell. The head of Polish diplomacy also held a series of meetings at the US Congress. He met with senators James Risch and Ted Cruz as well as with representatives of the Poland Caucus of the US Congress Marcy Kaptur and Michael McCaul. During a public hearing at the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, Minister Rau – the current Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe – presented the priorities of Poland’s 2022 OSCE chairmanship.

On the second day of his visit to Washington, D.C., Minister Zbigniew Rau met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. In their discussion, the Minister and the Secretary focused on current issues related to Euro-Atlantic security, including the crisis caused by the aggressive policies and actions of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

On 2 February 2022, Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz paid a working visit to Lithuania to hold consultations with deputy ministers of foreign affairs and national defence. He also met with the head of Lithuania’s MFA Gabrielius Landsbergis.

On 1 February, Foreign Minister Rau spoke on the phone with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and EU High Representative Josep Borrell.

“Estonia is Poland’s important partner and ally in the region. We share the same aspirations and interests. The current security situation in the nearest neighbourhood requires that we enhance our cooperation and coordinate our actions even further,” underscored Poland’s Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau after a meeting with his Estonian counterpart Eva-Maria Liimets.

On Monday, 31 January, the chief of Polish diplomacy will pay a one-day visit to Tallinn to meet with representatives of the highest Estonian authorities.

On 25 January, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk visited Berlin and Potsdam. This was the deputy foreign minister’s first visit to Germany since the country’s new federal government was sworn in on 8 December 2021.
