26.07.2021Poland helps flood victims in GermanyA rescue team with equipment to dry out flooded property is leaving for Germany. Provided by the Polish Government Agency for Strategic Reserves, the equipment will be transferred on 27 July to the authorities of North Rhine-Westphalia, a German state which was particularly badly affected in the recent flood. The dispatch from a Polish Government Agency for Strategic Reserves depot was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk and Vice-President of the Polish Government Agency for Strategic Reserves Przemysław Bryksa, as well as Sr. Capt. Brigade Commander Rafał Sołowin of the Polish State Fire Service.

21.07.2021Poland sends humanitarian aid to Lithuania in response to migration crisis at Lithuanian-Belarusian borderDue to an ongoing crisis caused by illegal migrants flowing from the territory of Belarus to the Lithuanian border for the past few months, Poland decided to send convoys carrying humanitarian aid. This is a sign of solidarity and support for our neighbour and ally.

19.07.2021Minister Rau attends first meeting of V4 foreign ministers under Hungarian presidencyOn 19 July, ministers of foreign affairs of the Visegrad Group (V4) met in Komárom, Hungary, under the Hungarian Presidency of the Group. “Today’s meeting, the first to be held at this level in less than three weeks since the Polish presidency ended, allowed us to discuss a number of important issues on the EU agenda, on which our four countries have similar positions,” highlighted Minister Rau.

19.07.2021Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz visits UkraineOn 15–18 July 2021, Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz visited Ukraine to hold political consultations with Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar, talk with Deputy Head of President’s Office Andrii Sybiha, and meet with the head of the OSCE SMM Ambassador Yaşar Çevik and President of Ukrainian Institute of National Remebrance Anton Drobovych. He also visited Luhansk Oblast and the line of contact in the conflict zone in Donbas, where he met with local Polish diaspora and the deputy governor of the Luhansk Oblast, and then went to the Zolote crossing point at the contact line. The deputy minister also attended annual celebrations at the Our Lady of the Scapular shrine in Berdychiv where he talked with Roman Catholic clergy in Ukraine – the representatives of the Episcopate and the guardians of the monastery, the Discalced Carmelites.

Upholding the OSCE’s comprehensive security concept – that of political and economic security, as well as human rights and democracy – will be at the centre of our action,” said Minister Zbigniew Rau speaking at the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on Thursday, where he presented the guidelines of Poland’s 2022 OSCE chairmanship.

13.07.2021MFA statement on parliamentary election in the Republic of Moldova on 11 July 2021MFA of Poland assesses in a positive way the conduct and results of the voting in the snap parliamentary election in the Republic of Moldova. According to the opinion of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission they were organized in a well-administered, orderly, competitive way with respect of fundamental freedoms. We note with satisfaction the results of the election which clearly demonstrate that the main motivation of voters was to finally get rid of the legacy of post-Soviet system, to deoligarchize the country and implement reforms in a real – and not only theoretical – way.

Following the programme’s great success, we are extending it to new countries starting today. It is the implementation of one of the Polish Deal’s proposals.
