On 17 May 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to UNESCO, Ambassador Magdalena Marcinkowska on behalf of Poland deposited an instrument of ratification with Director-General Audrey Azoulay to join the Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage, done in Paris on 2 November 2001 Thereby, Poland ratified all UNESCO conventions on cultural heritage protection.

“We have discussed the possibilities of enhancing the Visegrad cooperation at the forum of international organisations, going beyond the scope of coordination of positions, which has been tried and tested over the years at the forum of the European Union. I have also presented Poland’s proposals related to potential specific initiatives at the forum of the UN, the OECD, and international financial institutions,” said Minister Rau after the meeting of foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group (V4).

The three-day Polish-Slovenian consultations that were concluded today in Ljubljana enhanced close political and economic relations between the two countries. The visit by Undersecretary of State at the Polish MFA Paweł Jabłoński was an opportunity to discuss cooperation in developing strategic infrastructure investments under the Three Seas Initiative as well as bilateral political and economic issues.

On 14 May 2021, Łódź will host the seventh meeting of the foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group (V4) under Poland’s presidency of the Group.

Transatlantic relations, the EU’s engagement in the Western Balkan region, and a discussion with Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry were the main items on the agenda of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting that took place on Monday in Brussels. When talking about current affairs, the EU foreign ministers focused on relations with Belarus and Russia.

Vincent Biruta, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, started his three-day visit to Poland by meeting Minister Zbigniew Rau.

“Poland and Malta are bound by ties of friendship. I am satisfied with the state of our bilateral relations and do hope that we can continue this dialogue and cooperation within the EU,” said Deputy Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

Poland is deeply concerned about the escalation of violence in East Jerusalem. We urge all sides to take immediate actions aimed at de-escalating the current situation and to refrain from confrontational rhetoric. We also condemn other acts of violence which have occurred over the past days, including around the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank.

- The Three Seas region will play a key role in building the Europe of tomorrow. For this reason, we are enhancing the digital dimension of this cooperation - said the MFA Undersecretary and the Government Plenipotentiary for The Three Seas Initiative at the today’s conference “Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund for Digital Growth” organised by an association of digital companies Związek Cyfrowa Polska.
