“The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world as we know it. Rapid mitigation of its effects will be one of key tasks for the European community. Poland will also focus on this challenge during its upcoming presidency of the V4 group,” declared Minister Jacek Czaputowicz during the video conference that brought together the heads of diplomacy of the V4 and Nordic-Baltic Eight. The event was organised within the framework of the Czech presidency of the Visegrad Group.

On 5 June 2020, the chief of Poland’s diplomacy plans to visit Slovakia to meet with his counterpart Ivan Korčok, the Slovak Foreign Minister.

Minister Jacek Czaputowicz held a phone conversation with Israel’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabi Ashkenazi.

The prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation, the current situation in both countries triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as regional and international issues were the topics discussed today by Minister Czaputowicz and his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde.

“Poland develops close cooperation with the Baltic States at this difficult time for Europe and the whole world. This is a test of our solidarity and today’s meeting shows that we want to solve any problems together and in the necessary coordination,” ensured the head of Polish diplomacy.

New agreement means both Polish and British citizens can continue to stand and vote in local elections in each other’s countries.

-The European Union must speak with one voice in its relationship with a partner as strong as China, - said Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz during a video conference of EU foreign ministers.

- Poland is strongly committed to protection of persons with disabilities, an example of which are projects implemented under Polish humanitarian aid, - said the head of Polish diplomacy at the opening of the UN event co-organised by Poland on the sidelines of the Protection of Civilians Week.

On Wednesday, the chief of Polish diplomacy visited the two capitals to discuss bilateral issues, cooperation within the Visegrad Group and the Three Seas Initiative, the recovery from the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the plans to reopen economies with foreign ministers of the Czech Republic and Hungary.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs announces a contest for the best foreign language publication promoting the history of Poland and the best Polish language publication on the history of Polish diplomacy. The contest welcomes works which were published in 2019. Historians can submit their works until 31 August 2020.
