“Ten years ago, Poland and Sweden jointly put forward the idea of the Eastern Partnership as a vehicle for social, economic and, above all, institutional support for countries to the east of the EU. We are proud of what has been achieved,” said Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz during his visit to Stockholm, where he, together with the foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries and Sweden, took part in a ministerial dialogue in Stockholm marking the 10th anniversary of the EaP.

Polish-Romanian bilateral relations, cooperation within NATO and regional formats, as well as strengthening the eastern flank of the North-Atlantic Treaty and cooperation within the Warsaw Process were the main topics for discussion of minister Czaputowicz with Ion Oprișor, Romanian President’s Advisor on the Security Issues.

“The launch of a connection between Poland and Sri Lanka is a historic event which will help bring the societies of our two countries closer and offer new prospects of growth not just in tourism but also economic and cultural bilateral cooperation,” said Undersecretary of State Maciej Lang during an official inauguration of a direct air link offered by LOT Polish Airlines between Warsaw and Colombo.

On behalf of President Andrzej Duda, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz has presented Dominika Krois, Ph.D. with a nomination as the Permanent Representative of Poland to the UN Office and International Organisations in Vienna.

On behalf of the Polish President, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz has presented Adam Hałaciński with his nomination as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary – Permanent Representative of Poland to the Vienna-based Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

“Poland remains an active and constructive member of the 17+1 cooperation format, which complements bilateral relations and is an element of wide-ranging EU-China relations,” stressed Deputy Minister Maciej Lang during a Beijing-based meeting of National Coordinators representing China and 17 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

“Georgia is our major partner and its role in the regional security policy is of primary importance. It is also the most important export market in the South Caucasus region. This is reflected in an intensive political dialogue and dynamic trade,” said Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz during talks with his Georgian counterpart Vakhtang Makharoblishvili.

“The situation in the Middle East becomes more and more complex and tense, which bears serious consequences also for energy security,” said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz opening a meeting of the Working Group on Energy Security within the Warsaw Process. The event has gathered representatives of over 30 countries and international institutions.

“Poland understands the importance of reconciliation very well, but also knows that it is a difficult process,” said Deputy Minister Szynkowski vel Sęk during a debate on culture of reconciliation and the Polish-German experience in this area, which was held in Poznan.

“Building a more effective common market, in particular for services, defence policy, migration and climate protection are the main challenges facing the EU in 2019-2024,” stated Deputy Minister Konrad Szymański at a conference titled “Europe in times of change – how to address the social and economic challenges in the EU?” The event was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish Economic Institute.
