On October 21-22, Poland, the United States and Bahrain co-hosted the Working Group on Maritime and Aviation Security in Manama, Bahrain.

On 17 October, the UN General Assembly voted to elect Poland to the UN Human Rights Council for the 2020-2022 term. Poland won 124 votes.

“Human rights are the key element of the Warsaw Process. Man’s fundamental rights and freedoms are inalienable and must be equally important to every country in the world,” Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz stressed in his opening speech at the meeting of the Warsaw Process Working Group on Human Rights. The meeting, co-chaired by Deputy Minister Przydacz, was held in Washington, D.C.

The situation in Syria, Turkish activity in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus and the developments in Ukraine were in the focus of the Foreign Affairs Council session in Luxembourg on the 14 October.

Poland and the United States convened the Warsaw Process Working Group on Human Rights October 10 to 11 in Washington, D.C.

“The tradition of reciprocal contacts between Poland and Sweden should be an inspiration for our further joint efforts to build a safe, prosperous, inclusive and democratic European Union,” emphasised Deputy Minister Konrad Szymański during his visit to Stockholm on 11-12 October on the occasion of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Polish-Swedish diplomatic relations.

On Friday, during a debate at the National School of Public Administration, Minister Czaputowicz presented the achievements of Polish foreign policy in 2015-2019 and outlined the plans for the coming years.
