The gathering of the chief diplomats of the EUs Big Five and the UK focused on continuing the talks on comprehensive support for Ukraine and on strengthening Euro-Atlantic ties. Along with the foreign ministers of Poland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, the meeting was attended by Ukraines top diplomat.

Held on the sidelines of the London meeting of the Weimar+ (Big Five EU) member states, the consultations concerned the recent peace efforts related to the Kyiv visit of four European leaders and the proposal for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire and direct talks between Zelenskyy and Putin.

On May 7-8, 2025, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland organized a working meeting of the G7+ group in Warsaw, focused on the current assessment and future direction of sanctions policy towards the Russian Federation. The event was attended by representatives from 21 countries, including G7 members, as well as Australia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, South Korea, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, and Ukraine. The participants represented executives frthe departments responsible for Eastern policy at the MFA as well as sanctions coordinators. Representatives from the European Commission and the European External Action Service also took part in the meeting.

Peace prospects, European security, and the establishment of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine were high on the agenda for foreign ministers of the majority of EU member states and representatives of the Ukrainian administration in Lviv. The talks were also attended by High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas and foreign ministers of Norway, the United Kingdom, Moldova, and North Macedonia.
