On 30-31 March, the foreign ministers of the Bucharest Nine (B9) countries gathered in Łódź. Top diplomats of NATO’s eastern flank countries (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia) meet regularly to discuss key issues for the security of the region and the North Atlantic Alliance as a whole.

On 29 March 2023, heads of missions representing the States Parties to the Convention on the Law of the Sea accredited in Warsaw met with Konrad Marciniak, Director of the Legal and Treaty Department at the MFA and Poland’s candidate to the post of judge in the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

As we are approaching the next meeting of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee on March 28-30, 2023, we wish to reiterate Ukraine’s position on the IOC recent calls to explore the pathways for participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in competitions as “neutral athletes”.

Poland and the UK will build two major temporary villages in the west and east of Ukraine to provide vital housing to those forced from their homes by barbaric Russian attacks. The UK has announced up to £10 million in funding to support the new Polish-UK partnership, which will deliver temporary shelters, energy supplies and assistance to those who have lost their homes since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

On 20 March 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk, Government Plenipotentiary for Compensation for Damage Caused by German Aggression and Occupation in 1939-1945, contacted all US Congressmen—members of the House of Representatives and Senate—to inform them about Poland’s efforts to obtain compensation for losses caused by German aggression and occupation in 1939-1945.
