Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy

The Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy is an annual international forum organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland to promote democratic values, strengthen international solidarity and foster cooperation between governments, civil society, academia and human rights defenders. Since its launch in 2012, the Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy has become a platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas on how to safeguard democracy and human rights in an increasingly complex global environment.

UN Human Rights Council in a Fractured World: Lessons and Challenges

14th edition of the Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy – an international forum aimed at reinforcing democratic values, strengthening international solidarity and fostering cooperation among actors engaged in the protection of human rights – will be held on 27 November 2026.

Entitled UN Human Rights Council in a Fractured World: Lessons and Challenges, this year's conference will mark the Human Rights Council's twentieth anniversary. It will reflect on its achievements, examine the challenges facing the international human rights protection system and explore prospects for its further development.

Against the backdrop of political repression, shrinking civic space and threats to democratic institutions, the conference will consider how the Council and its mechanisms can respond effectively to human rights challenges.

The discussions will connect an assessment of the Council's work with the impact of disinformation and digital technologies, and with the protection and meaningful participation of human rights defenders.

We will publish the detailed programme and registration link shortly.
