The 8th reporting and election session of the Civic Seniors’ Parliament took place in the building of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. It was attended by Minister Marlena Maląg.

According to Eurostat in September this year, the unemployment rate was 2.6 percent. The same result was recorded a month earlier. – This means that we are again ranked 2nd in the European Union in terms of the lowest level of unemployment – says Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy.

The government has adopted a draft act on the ICT system to handle certain contracts. With the solutions provided for in this act, employers and principals will gain a tool for executing contracts and archiving documentation. Calculating and paying taxes and insurance premiums will be less complicated.

Minister Marlena Maląg opened a conference on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The invited guests included representatives of the government as well as institutions and organisations that care about the rights of people with disabilities on a daily basis.

Fifty-five organisations and entities dealing with social assistance will receive a total of PLN 4.9 million for projects supporting the homeless. The funds have been awarded as part of the “Overcome Homelessness. Support Programme for the Homeless” competition.

Family Rights Day is celebrated on 22 October. It was established by the Sejm on 21 October 2016. The date is not accidental – on 22 October 1983, on the fifth anniversary of the inauguration of the pontificate of John Paul II, the Holy See proclaimed the "Charter of Family Rights" at the request of the Holy Father. Family Rights Day is an opportunity to emphasise the importance of the family as the foundation of Poland’s development, and to stress the need for special care for the family rights.

From March 2023, the lowest old-age pension and disability pension will amount to PLN 1,588.44. Then, these benefits are to increase by 13.8 percent, but no less than PLN 250. We seek not to make this indexation symbolic. The point is to ensure a decent life for the oldest generation, emphasised Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy.

The Ministry of Family and Social Policy and UNICEF have signed a memorandum on cooperation in providing help to children who have found shelter in Poland after Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
